Hello, my name is Wesley Henderiks and I am the founder of the Give a Chance Foundation. I am currently in Ukraine assisting families with disabled children who have been forced to flee their homes due to the Russian invasion.
My goal is to help them rebuild their lives, by supporting them with rehabilitation therapy, and support the mothers find online employment, allowing them to financially provide for their families.
I founded the Give a Chance Foundation in 2019 to aid underprivileged Filipinos in remote regions. My personal connection to the Philippines stems from my children, who have Asian roots, and my daughter who spent her early years there with my wife’s family.
In the pictures, you can see my son smiling next to the laptop after we received an email confirming our registration at the chamber of commerce. And you can also see him receiving the first donation from his great-grandmother.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, progress on the Filipino project was temporarily halted, but I hope to revive it in the near future.
Then we entered 2022 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine became a horror scenario for many people, including a close friend of mine. Unfortunately, he isn’t with us anymore.
That’s when I decided to shift the focus at Give a Chance to help out people in Ukraine.
I went online and rallied volunteers from around the world to launch a new project: The “Magical Amber Seed,” a Kickstarter project to raise funds for our cause.
In January 2023, I traveled to Ukraine to establish connections with volunteer groups and organizations and to offer support to mothers with disabled children. This experience reinforced my dedication to this cause, leading me to focus all my efforts on it and launch this website for donations and our Kickstarter campaign for “The Magical Amber Seed.”
